Eyes glowing with indecision
he looked upon the puzzle before him.
He being merely an heir to the ordinary,
spawned by hospital wards
to newlyweds high on anesthesia.
He being a living sign against
his parents hopes for a still birth.
He stood at the junction
and eyed both sides.
He could stay flightless and wait out
the cyclone of trips to the ICU
and remain the hollowed out
faceless son of accident and
incident prone emergency room
romantics or...
His mother's soft kiss obscured
his thoughts of the other option.
He was snagged by her spiderweb
and pulled back into her arms.
He was stuck with the project
of taking care of his persistent
yet some how deathless parents
Despite what the symposium
in his head had voted.
